Is the structure sound?
They assess the strength, homogeneity and behavior of the structure: whether the concrete has the expected quality, whether there are internal flaws and how the element responds to loads and movements.
How much longer will it last?
They show the progression of aggressive agents in the concrete and the risk of reinforcement corrosion, which is what usually defines the service life of the structure.
Is what was built properly bonded?
They check the bond of renderings and coatings and the fastening of elements, with the failure stress and the layer where the failure occurred.
